Rati's Story
Daisy's Eye Cancer Fund.
The DECF is entirely funded by donations, so every penny we receive is deeply valued in the fight to save and improve young lives.  It is possible to make donations online to both the UK and Canadian branch of the Fund.
Daisy.
Rati
The Fund is named after Daisy Lloyd, a child from Exeter in the United Kingdom, diagnosed with this rare type of eye cancer. Daisy required specialized treatment at the Hospital for Sick Children (SIckkids) in Toronto, Canada, that was unavailable in England.  Her parents provided the initial funding to transport Rati and her mother from Africa to Canada in October 2004.
Daisy's Eye Cancer Fund was inspired by a little girl from Africa.  In late 2004, in Botswana, southern Africa, Rati had a rare recurrence of retinoblastoma. The family was given little hope of effective treatment for their daughter in Botswana.  Thanks to an internet plea for help, she travelled to Toronto for treatment.  Supporters in Canada and England founded the charity to help Rati and children like her around the world.
IRDF people.
The DECF mission focuses on funding the development of regional clinics, support for awareness, training and local treatment programs, and equipment, and providing financial assistance to low-income families when they must travel in order for their child to receive life-saving treatment. The long term goal is to establish sustainable, locally-administered treatment programs in developing nations.
Please help us honour the thousands of children with Rb like Daisy and Rati, who face or blindness death because they do not have access to the care they need, when they need it.  Make a donation today, and help us change children's lives.
