Provides a free information service about cancer and cancer care for people with cancer and their families.  Has an extensive resource base and provides a database of current clinical trials.

The world's largest volunteer funded cancer research foundation.  Provides information on recent research and developments, and a list of affiliated clinical cancer centres and research institutes in the UK.

Canadian Cancer Society

Provides information, support groups, patient/family link up, summer camps for children with cancer, short-term emergency financial assistance with treatment costs, help with hospital transport and accommodation near treatment centres,  Major contributor to the National Cancer Institute of Canada (www.ncic.cancer.ca). Provides advocacy, information and support for families coping with childhood cancer.  Includes sibling specific support and BaseCamp in Florida for children with cancer.

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation (Canada)

Provides advocacy, resource centre and support for families coping with childhood cancer.  Provides each newly diagnosed family with a "Reach For The Sky" pack.  Also offers Back To School kits on loan for classroom use, and college bursaries to childhood cancer survivors.

National Childhood Cancer Foundation/

Funds research being conducted world-wide by the Children's Oncology Group.   Advocates the cause of childhood cancer at national policy-making level.  Publishes "Childhood Cancerline", a magazine detailing new treatments and advances in research.  The website carries survivor stories.  Also sponsors the Childhood Cancer Awareness website at www.childhoodcancerawareness.org and the Conquer Kids Cancer Gold Ribbon Days in Washington DC during the annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September).

National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (US)

A survivor-led organisation advocating improvements in access to healthcare for long term survivors of cancer.  Provides a free Cancer Survival Toolbox to anyone affected by cancer, in addition to an extensive publications list.  Maintains CanSearch, a guide to online cancer resources.

Comprehensive cancer resources from the Abramson Cancer Centre at the University of Pennsylvania.  Includes a medical library, current issues in the news, a database of clinical trials at UP and video/audio presentations from various conferences.  Be warned: Oncolink does not allow links to individual pages, so if you want to save something for reference, make a note of where you found that info, or print/save it to disk.
