Both diseases are listed with the United States National Organisation for Rare Disorders, which defines a rare "orphan" disease as one which affects less than 200,000 people across America.  Click here to read the citations.

Due to their rare nature, it is often very hard for families to access resources about these tumours, and to share their experiences with other families in a similar situation.
